The £4 drugstore concealer that was worth the HYPE

Updated: Mar 18, 2019

I am a bit late in posting about this concealer but I wanted to give you guys a honest review of this product. Well we have all heard and read about it and yes the hype was REAL. The Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Full coverage concealer literally broke the net.

This concealer which launched in the beginning of January this year went viral with its amazing reviews from beauty bloggers and makeup artists. This £4 drugstore concealer was being compared to a high end brand - The Tarte Shape Tape (which retails for around £22). After reading such amazing reviews all over the internet, I decided to give it a try. I have used various Makeup Revolution products in the past and have always been impressed.

Just a quick overview of the concealer:

- 18 different shades ranging from deep, medium and light tones to suite everyone

- Lightweight yet a full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and tackle dark circles

- 3.4ml of product

- Over - sized foot doe applicator for a smooth application

- A concealer that won't set into fine lines

My thoughts on this product:

After using this concealer everyday for around 2 months now, I can officially say that this is a new drugstore favourite of mine. I have been using the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in "Light" for many years now, but Makeup Revolutions Define and Conceal has just gone beyond. The packaging itself has a really nice finish which I find usually all Makeup Revolution products do. I use the shades C10 (for a full foundation), shade C5 (to highlight under the eyes) and shade C14 (for contouring).

The best thing about these concealers is that it does exactly what is says. The coverage is INSANE and you literally just need a little bit which goes along way. I use a damp beauty blender and work it into my skin. It is easily blendable, which is something that I always tend to look for in a concealer and the finish is absolutely amazing. A problem that I usually tend to get is smile lines around my mouth making it difficult for me to find a concealer that won't set into the lines. Well yes you guessed it right. This concealer doesn't set.
